Lean into Yet!

Habbakuk 3:17-18 www.terilynneunderwood.com

We all have an “even though.”  Maybe yours is a sick child or a broken marriage.  Perhaps you are struggling with an overextended  calendar or a more month than money.  Some may be feeling that ache of loneliness or be in a season of wondering if God still sees them.  Our “even thoughs” are all different.  But the “yet” remains the same:

I will rejoice in the Lord!

Perhaps this weekend you need to lean into the “yet.”  Rest in the presence of the Lord and experience the sweetness of His presence.  Take time to remind yourself of His provision and protection.  Recall the joy of your salvation (Psalm 51:12).  Laugh with your children. Take a walk with your husband.

Know this, not one detail of your life has escaped His thoughtful care.

No sorrow or hurt or pain has come to you about which He is unaware.  None of the beautiful, amazing gifts in your life can begin to compare to the greatness of His tender love for you.  Life is filled with “even thoughs.”  The only way we can remain steadfast is to lean into “yet.”

Will you join me this weekend and lean in hard … rejoicing in the Lord?

Weekend Challenge www.terilynneunderwood.com

This week was filled with lots of writing, just not here on my blog.  My friend (and boss) Erin and I are working diligently on a book for writers.   I have spent several hours developing new content for the revised and expanded edition of Parenting from the Overflow that will release in October.    I did share some thoughts about moms pursuing dreams and how that is a gift to our children on Mod Squad … and I’m giving away two copies of my book there.  You might want to check that out!  And if you are looking for a Bible study for this fall, please consider Jennifer Rothschild’s latest, Missing Pieces.  I am incredibly excited to be a part of the launch team for this study.  Have a wonderful weekend!  And don’t lose sight of the “yet!”
