For Your Weekend

for your weekend || September 5, 2014 || TeriLynneUnderwood.com

The big news this week is I got my hair cut and colored. Isn’t it amazing how a great cut and color can make you feel so much better. Just like my clothes were adding extra stress in my day, so was my hair. I actually spent some time looking for the best style for my face shape. As this article on YouBeauty says, “While a great hairstyle can lift years off your look and make you feel completely reinvigorated, few realize that it’s your face shape that is truly at play. As the foundation for any haircut, the shape of your face determines how your hair will emphasize your eyes, lips and cheekbones.”  And yes, I did take their quiz to determine my face shape … it is a rounded square.

After I got my cut and color finished, my daughter said, “Mom! You look so much younger!” I’m definitely call that a win!!

Succulent Love: Brown Thumbs Unite from Balancing Beauty & Bedlam has given me new hope for the having plants inside my house. I have managed to keep our aloe plant alive for over a year so maybe succulents are the best bet for me. I especially love the way Jen has added them in unique and beautiful ways.

Scandalous News: You’re Allowed to Disappoint People from Holley Gerth — just yes! Every word, yes.

If Jesus disappointed people and he is the most loving man who ever lived, we’re certainly going to disappoint people too. And what’s more, we should following his example by disappointing people for their greater good…and ours too.

You all know I’m one of those moms who unapologetically reads all my girl’s texts and “stalks” her and all her friends on social media. Not because I don’t trust her but because it’s just too easy to get in over your head and I want to know what’s going on BEFORE it gets out of hand.  I saw a link to this the other day and I’m investigating it: TeenSafe for iPhone. Has anyone heard of it or had any experience with it?

Everyday workout — this one actually looks doable.

Honey mustard is one of the must have colors for this fall! Such a relief for this girl whose daughter’s school colors are black and gold! That means even m game day wear is on point. 🙂

Burlap curtains? I’m seriously pondering this idea for my kitchen this fall. What do you think — good idea or dorky?

Great Food

And here is the recipe for the chicken stew I made last weekend. This is one of my favorites because it’s quick and easy AND it freezes well. What’s not to love about that?? {Also, you can double this easily and share it with friends or family.}
