A Few Things on Friday the 13th

This morning when I was having my quiet time I realized it is Friday the 13th. Which of course took me back to my high school days in the late 1980s and made me think of all the horror/slasher films that I watched {and by watched I mean held my hands above my eyes as I screamed and jumped in the theater}. And that made me think about the time we took our senior adults from Georgia on a trip to the Smoky Mountains and they wanted to do Ripley’s Haunted House in Gatlinburg.  Y’all, I literally climbed up the back of a woman in her 60s while we were in the house. Obviously, I’m a huge scaredy cat.

All of that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Which brings me to today’s post … there are a few things I wanted to share and they in no way fit together so, I figured why not put them all together in one post.

a few things on Friday {November 13, 2015}

Periscope

I’ve been periscoping … for two weeks. Yeah, I know. I’m paving the way as a trendsetter here.  Anyway, every Thursday I’m sharing “3 Things” and I wanted to make sure you knew so you could join me. It’s just a fun 12-15 minutes of me telling you about three things I’m loving or reading or noticing or whatever.  These are life-changing things, y’all, like yesterday when number two on my list was, wait for it —

Snickerdoodles

Y’all, these are the best cookies. I promised I’d share the recipe.  As I was about to type it up to put on Facebook, I remembered I had already shared it and so I searched for the link and, ta dah!, here you go … Snickerdoodles!  {Also, if you want to join me on Thursdays, I’m TeriLynneU on periscope.}

Free shirt!

Y’all, I love Cents of Style and today, if you order $25 or more, you will receive a free t-shirt! Be sure you click over to the product page and add the items to your cart from there or your shirt won’t automatically get added.  Look at this shirt — adorable!! And I’m going to go ahead and pick up a couple of Christmas gifts so I can have the shirt for myself. {Please note: I’m a Cents of Style affiliate, so if you purchase through the links I’m about to share, I will get a small commission which I’ll use to pay for coffee, web hosting, and the never-ending cheerleading expenses. Haha!} Here are some of the items I’m contemplating: Hope Script Cuff {$9.95}, Jasper Arrowhead & Fringe Necklace {$12.95}, “I Have Nothing to Wear” baseball tee {$14.95}.

Blog Posts that Make Me Cry

This morning Courtney shared this post on Facebook. Y’all, get a tissue and then click over. {Come back though, because there are still ten more things on this crazy list!!}

Blog Posts that Make Me Think

Y’all, I’ve read some of the best stuff this week. Like this by Sandra Stanley about gratitude and this from Shelly Miller about feeling like you’re in the minority.

Blog Posts that Spark Conversation

I shared this post on my Facebook page and the comments have been pretty interesting.  What say you?

Thanksgiving Stockings

Y’all, it has been so fun to see this shared on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. If you decide to do Thanksgiving stockings this year, will you please let me know! I thought it might be fun to share some of your ideas too.

Prayers for Girls

This sweet community is becoming more and more precious to my heart every day! I’ve got big dreams and hopes for us, y’all! So, be sure to connect. I’ve almost got the December prayer calendar finalized. I’ll be sending it out two weeks from today. Go now if you haven’t signed up! {As of this minute almost 700 moms are on the list to receive the monthly prayer calendars … y’all! Imagine what could happen with all that prayer!!!!}

Colossians

I’ve been working on a project and it keeps leading me back to Colossians. I’ve been spending a lot of time meditating and studying these verses:

Colossians 3:1-3Okay, so that’s all I’ve got for you today … we’re headed to Birmingham later to watch our football team play in the second round of the playoffs. How exciting! And I’m pretty sure since we’ll be eating something yummy … so you might want to watch Instagram for the updates on that. 🙂

Happy Friday the 13th! Enjoy your weekend!!

xo,

Teri Lynne
