Happy Book Birthday!! Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most

Y’all! It’s here!!

I can’t believe it is finally July 18 — and Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most is making her appearance in this big old world. But there’s some else I want to tell you — this book isn’t just for moms.

Happy Book Birthday! Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most

It’s true, while I believe it’s a resource that can both encourage and equip girl moms to pray with confidence and boldness. The simple truth is —

Praying for Girls is also for all of us grown-up girls who sometimes struggle to believe everything our Father says about us is true.

The truth is, all of these prayers we will pray for the girls we love, are just as applicable to us. I’m 45 years old and there are days when I still struggle to believe I am known and accepted by God.  There are days when I find it difficult to keep my heart aligned with His or have a hard time keeping my mind stayed on the Lord.  Sometimes I’m not generous in my relationships and there are times when I lose sight of the purpose God has for me and my life.

And I’m just about 100% sure you are the same.

That’s why it was SO important to me to include a prayer of encouragement for us grown-up girls who need to be reminded that every truth we speak over our daughters is equally applicable to us as well.

I know what it is to look in the mirror and see only what’s lacking. (There might even be a whole chapter in the book about that … and it might just be the first one.) But I also know what it means to take God at His Word and trust that what He has said about me is far more true than what I often think about me.

And I want you to know that too!

Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most is my heartfelt invitation for you to join me— not as perfect pray-ers but as humble daughters of the perfect Father, praying for the girls in your life but even more — believing all those same truths for yourself!

You can get the book today in bookstores and online. All the details about that are right here. And I’d be so honored if you would share about this book with the women in your life — girl moms or not. But most of all I want you to know all 200 of the prayers in the book are true for you!

  1. Sweet friend, I am so happy for you! I know this is something that God placed in your heart and has led you all the way. I would love a copy for my precious granddaughter Julia . She is 6 and such a lover of Jesus already. One of my favorite scriptures is Phil. 4:13.

I do hope our paths cross again. Perhaps I will find myself in a new church and planning a women’s event, YOU will be the first person I think of to be with us! You impacted the ladies at Hartselle FUMC in a powerful way. What a special, special day that was for all of us.
Much love and congratulations on a job well done!!!

  2. So excited for you Teri Lynne!
This is a verse that has been with me this week:
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. I Peter 4:8

  3. Congratulations and thank you! So much for girls to battle through with identity, self esteem etc. etc. one can’t pray enough for the protection of their mind and heart and soul. Phil 1:6 is my life verse and last week it was a great encouragement to me when I was feeling down – God continues to work on us to mold and shape us into who we are destined to be under Him. Love it 🙂
