What I’m Reading {April 2019}

Can you believe we are halfway through April? This year is sailing by ... and I'm not reading nearly as much as I'd like. But I am hoping that will change a little as we move into summer. I'd love to dig into some really good fiction over the summer ... so if you have recommendations, PLEASE leave them in the comments!! WHAT I'M READING {APRIL 2019} BIBLE STUDY I always start by sharing what I'm studying. As you probably know, I'm teaching through Exodus this year at my church. We ... [Read More]

What I’m Reading {January 2019}

If we were meeting for coffee or you dropped by my house one Tuesday morning, there is one thing I'm sure of — we'd talk about books. Even if you said you weren't a reader {which would, of course, make me a little sad but nevertheless}, I'd tell you I know a book you'd love. I used to share this sort of post regularly and then life got crazy last year and I barely wrote anything. So, I thought we'd get this book loving party started again in 2019. I often spend January reading one or two of ... [Read More]

Book Review: Why Her? by Nicki Koziarz

So one of my favorite parts of this writing/blogging thing is the opportunity to review books.  It's a great gig — publishers send you free books and you get to tell the world what you think.   A few months ago, I requested a book I'd been wanting to read, Why Her? 6 Truths We Need to Hear When Measuring Up Leaves Us Falling Behind.   The book arrived from the lovely folks at B&H Publishing a few days later and I anxiously opened it up to start reading.  I made it to page twelve before I ... The Secret to Joy for Your Family {guest post by Kristen Welch, author of Raising World Changers in a Changing World}

A long time ago, I won a beautiful Vintage Pearl necklace for telling a story about how we were one of "those" families.  I also read along as one of my favorite family/DIY bloggers went on a Compassion Trip to Kenya. At a conference I had the opportunity to meet Kristen Welch and tell her how much I had been changed and inspired by what she was doing with Mercy House.  Since then, I've been honored to share the word about her books like Rhinestone Jesus and Raising Grateful Kids in an Entitled ... FIRST ASK WHY {an interview with author Shelly Wildman}

I love birthdays! Even though my birthday is at the beginning of October, I always feel like I should get to celebrate all month long.  But it isn't just people birthdays I love — I also get super excited about book birthdays! And today is the birthday of a book I am thrilled to share with you, written by a woman I deeply admire and respect and am thankful to call friend. First Ask Why: Raising Kids to Love God through Intentional Discipleship by Shelly Wildman needs to be on every parent's ... [Read More]

{Crowdsourcing} Favorite Parenting Books

I'm a huge fan of crowdsourcing. You know, asking the people you know for their best recommendations, resources, and ideas. In my #girlMOMS group, I do a lot of this type of thing — asking for best mother-daughter date ideas or fun movies to watch together, etc. Recently, I asked what their favorite parenting books are. And, after seeing all their recommendations, I knew it was a list worth sharing.  So here you go ... {CROWDSOURCING} FAVORITE PARENTING BOOKS Please note, I have not ... [Read More]
