{Joy Day 30} God Will Supply Every Need

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  To our God and Father be glory forever and ever.  Amen.

Greet every saint in Christ Jesus.  The brothers who are with me greet you.  All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household.

Philippians 4:19-22, emphasis added

I’ve experienced this … the need-supplying God.  The abundance of His provision is overwhelming.   In situations throughout my life, the Hand of God has protected me – even when I was running from Him.   He’s that kind of God, friends.  The kind Who lets us wander even when it breaks His heart but never, ever lets us move past His grip, past His grace.   I’ve eaten with pigs and I’ve been welcomed back with robe and ring {Luke 15:11-32}.  But I’ve also experienced His great provision when my heart was broken, when the possibility of loss was too large for me to comprehend.  Even then, even. then. …  He supplied.   I don’t know where you are today, what the situation in your life is like, what the circumstances that threaten your hope are.  But I do know this … GOD WILL SUPPLY EVERY NEED.  Not some, not most.  EVERY. Single. One.   Will you let Him?

Sometimes, God,  we want to be our own supplier.  We’re like determined two-year-olds, stamping our feet and declaring, “I do it.”  We believe the lie that we are self-sufficient, that we know enough, that we are able.   Lord, break the lie’s hold on our hearts!  Grant us wisdom, discernment, faith … move in us and show us the truth of You, our only Provider, our sure Supplier.   Thank You, Father, for meeting those needs we never even knew we had.   Thank You for supplying for us even when we’re running from You.   Thank You for bending low over us when we are brought low by life’s hardships.   Teach us to dwell in the richness of Your supply, in the glorious riches of all Jesus Christ has given us, done for us, offered us.   For it is in His precious Name we pray, Amen.
