{Top Ten} Ways to Use a Silverware Caddy

Sometimes you get something and it’s just too cool to use exclusively for its intended purpose.  Ya know?  That’s how I feel about the Give Thanks Wooden Caddy I received recently from Dayspring.   It’s absolutely gorgeous … and so I decided to figure out some ways to use it beyond the obvious.   I did find quite a few!

I love November … the weather is really cooling off here in North Alabama and the thoughts of spending time with family over the holidays have moved from wistful dreaming to concrete planning.    November is when we are intentional about giving thanks, recognizing the many blessings the Lord has poured upon us, and, for me, focusing on what matters for eternity- people.   I love this season … and I love products that gently refocus me.   I’m thankful for companies like Dayspring for creating quality products that allow us to bring Scripture and grace and beauty into our homes.

So, which of my ideas did you like best?   And, what would you add to my list?

    • I really do love it … and I knew there were so many uses for it. I’m not really a silverware caddy sort of person. 🙂

  1. How about in the bathroom with makeup brushes and lip gloss? Might have to put a piece of styrofoam in the bottom so the brushes/glosses will be seen. Also, in the kitchen with tall/thin oil & vinegar crusts. I love this!!

    • I left it as the jewelry display … I love it on my dresser and especially love the juxtaposition of its rustic look with the femininity of my grandmother’s milkglass next to it.

  2. This was great – loved it! I love being organized and when I can do with something that is so pretty, that is even better! I liked a lot of the ideas but I think my favorites were the candles, art supplies and remotes! The bookend was cool too – which was great b/c then it can be combined with another idea, like flowers! Thanks for the great ideas!

    • Stephanie, it is a great product … I’m trying to decide how to use it at Thanksgiving with the whole family … I have a few more ideas. 🙂

  3. Fun post! I love the bookend idea, too. Is it big enough it could be used as a “mail sorter” at the entryway table?

I’m not a big decorator, but I LOVE the meaning by DaySpring’s products. What blessings.

    • Caroline, I don’t think the slots are wide enough for envelopes. But it could hold keys and sunglasses, etc.

  4. I love your blog, and I love this review! I too received the caddy to blog about, and your caddy review is my favorite! 🙂 So glad to have found your blog through incourage – I’m new to the incourage community, and I absolutely love it! Blessings to you 🙂

  5. I’m not really a silver-ware caddy kind of person either so I must admit while I thought that was a nice looking piece by Dayspring I questioned it’s purpose in my home. I am however an everything in it’s place kind of girl and I love the idea of using it as a remote caddy. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • Thanks, Shari! I *think* I’m going to use it for flowers on my Thanksgiving buffet table … but I really did like it as a cornucopia also … dilemma!!

  6. Love this post!! I already ordered the caddy- just because it is so cute and what a deal….but wasn’t sure when I would use it, besides maybe once a year. Well, you just blew that thought out of the water! I love the remote holder for everyday and the flowers for decorating. I may just go back and order another 🙂
