  1. Lee and I were just talking last night about the prayers God answered just in the month of January. Thanks for the reminder to praise Him for His faithfulness!

  2. It is so very true that when the storms hit, and hit hard, we tend to have a memory loss of God’s loving care in other times of our lives. What an inspired idea to create a faith/praise history for encouragement and comfort in the ordinary days as well as in our darkest days.

    • “Memory loss” … love that! So true. And I love that you point out this faith history can encourage us in the ordinary days as well. Sometimes that is when I need it the most … when the mundane reality of life has worn me thin.

    • Amy, I’m so glad you wrote about the lesson and the gift God has given you! I loved your post … what an encouragement to all of us! Thank you for being such a blessing in my life. I am immensely grateful for your sweet friendship!

  3. Years ago I did sort of the same thing and began a thankful journal. Every night before bed I would list 5 things I was thankful for and I couldn’t list the same thing twice. At first the list was easy. I list family, friends and such but as the days went one things were not as easy. It isn’t that there was not anything to be thankful for but it was because I had been taking it all for granted. We need to always be looking/aware of all that He has blessed us with. Thanks for the reminder to remember.

    • Amy, I love what you shared. A few years ago, I challenged myself and my mentor group to count the blessings with a goal of reaching the number of the year … it was 2005! We had to dig deep and really be focused on noticing. But it was amazing how God began to show us the gifts and provision in our lives we had never before seen.

  4. I have journaled for years. Then they are hit and miss, now I am back at it, but some days I just don’t get at it. I am working on writing a story of my life journey for my grandchildren, because from the beginning I have been a miracle and though I became a prodigal, I can look back at God’s grace and faithfulness through it all and am learning to trust Him, to Be Still, to LISTEN, my word for the year, and to rest in Him. I think each day is a faith journey in itself. thanks for your posts!
