31 Verses to Pray for Your Marriage {Deuteronomy 6:9}

You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 6:9

The end of “the shema” is as beautiful as the beginning to me. The Lord doesn’t just want our relationship to be figurative and intangible … He invites us to connect with Him in very tangible ways.

We have Scripture and faith-oriented words displayed in many rooms of our home. Doing so offers us a visible reminder of Whose we are and from Whom all  the gifts of our life come.

But having the words displayed in our home means nothing if they are not also displayed in our lives. We need the Word of God seared into our hearts and manifested in our words to and about each other. We need His Word to be the filter through which all of our words are forced.

Then we will bear the mark of His work in us, as individuals, as a couple, and as a family … and all who come into our homes and across our paths will know we are His.

31 Verses to Pray for Your Marriage || Deuteronomy 6:9

O Lord, may we etch Your words of love and peace and grace into the fray and fabric of our home.  May the words we use and how we use them be a reflection of Your Presence in our hearts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
