For Your Weekend

I'm sitting here listening to the rain {and hoping the wind won't blow it in through my open windows} and contemplating the depths of God's love for me. I hope you know how vast is the love God has for you. Easter is the high point in the Christian church — the celebration of Christ's victory over death and our hope for eternal life.   This post from House of Hendrix — I promise, just read it. The most beautiful description of friendship I have read in a very long time.  After I'd ... [Read More]

For Your Weekend

So, this weekend is supposed to be rainy and that means all I will want to do is wrap up in a blanket on the couch and watch a Blue Bloods marathon on Netflix with Scott. I've spent most of this week working on a book proposal but I did go to a class at the gym with my friend Marguerite on Tuesday morning. The class involved hand weights and one of those huge balance ball things. It also requires a proficient knowledge of left and right and being able to do one thing with the right side of your ... For Your Weekend {“Friends” Marathon Edition}

Oh my word, y'all! It's Saturday morning and we're having a little Friends marathon around here.  Thank you, Netflix! {Though we do own all ten seasons on DVD so we've been having Friends marathons since before the show went off the air.} I'm currently watching my favorite episode ever: The One with All the Poker. For Your Weekend … Christmas is almost here!

And I suppose that's good since our family celebrations begin Monday. I've read some wonderful posts over the past few weeks about preparing your heart for Christmas and I wanted to share them with you. It's so easy to be distracted by all that needs to be done and miss the one needful thing.  I journaled about my struggle with this very thing ... [Read More]

For Your Weekend

The big news this week is I got my hair cut and colored. Isn't it amazing how a great cut and color can make you feel so much better. Just like my clothes were adding extra stress in my day, so was my hair. I actually spent some time looking for the best style for my face shape. As this article on YouBeauty says, "While a great hairstyle can lift years off your look and make you feel completely reinvigorated, few realize that it’s your face shape that is truly at play. As the foundation for any ... [Read More]

{This post contains affiliate links. If you purchase through them, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.}   Oh y'all! My favorite time of year has arrived — college football season!! Last night Texas A&M beat Steve Spurrier's team at South Carolina without Johnny Manziel and I was delighted! The Vandy game was delayed due to rain and didn't kick off until almost 10 pm. If I hadn't been exhausted from helping unpack at my grandparent's new house all day ... [Read More]
