Y'all, I am barely reading anything this month. No joke. With our Refresh conference happening this weekend and preparing for the Enjoy God's Word conference next month, I've basically only been reading things directly connected to what I'm studying and/or teaching. While I will share what's on my very small stack, I'd love to hear from you about what you are reading. There are a few books coming out in the next few weeks/months that I am excited about so I'll share those ... [Read More]
What I’m Reading {February 2019}
Hey friends! Last week we bought some of those cube storage things for Scott's vinyl collection. I made a spreadsheet so we'd know what albums he had (this is necessary because he had duplicates of several and even three copies of a few and also because I like spreadsheets). When we were done, there were 463 records on the list. Yes, that's a lot of vinyl. Naturally, I was teasing him about the number ... and then he pointed to the three FULL bookshelves also in our living room and I realized ... [Read More]
9 Great Books {Releasing August – October 2017}
Do you ever wish someone would just make a list of the books you should read? Well, you're in luck! Because that is exactly what I am doing today. I've got recommendations for just about everyone. What If We Became Women who Never Unfriended?
"Lord, may the words in this book change the next generation." I choked back the sob threatening to push its way out of my throat. Around the room, women murmured, "Yes, Lord," and everything in me wanted to fall on my knees. These women, gathered in the prayer room at our church— the same room where we have prayed for marriages to be saved, for bodies to be healed, for souls to be saved—now stood circled around the Praying for Girls final edits, praying for God to use the words to change ... Grace Is Greater {and why that matters}
Grace Is Greater. Kyle Idleman's newest book is powerful and convicting in much the same way as Pete Wilson's book, Let Hope In. In fact, though it's only March, I'm ready to say if you are only going to read one book besides the Bible this year, this is the one! {Which should tell you something about how much I loved it since I have my own first book releasing in July of this year.} GRACE IS GREATER {and why that matters} If you read Idleman's book, Not a Fan, you are familiar with ... What I’m Reading || November 2016
If you want to know how long it takes to write a book, the answer {for me at least} is—the whole series of "West Wing." No joke, I started writing with the first season as my background noise because Aaron Sorkin's writing is genius. And yesterday I hit send on the email to my editor with manuscript attached just as President Bartlet said, "Tomorrow" in the final episode. #BarletForAmerica, y'all. In other news, today is National Authors' Day and since it's been two months since I shared ... [Read More]
