Memorial Day … the official start of summer.
This year was a little bittersweet for our family As thankful as we are to be living back home in North Alabama, we sure do miss all our friends from our almost-eleven years on the Georgia Coast. {Of course, they were battling Tropical Storm Beryl while we were relishing the perfect sunshine-y day at the pool but that’s a whole other thing, right?}
So, this year, we spent time with family and ate yummy food and I got a text that made me cry.
It’s hard to leave the kind of friends who are truly family. But it’s also hard to be down in the dumps when you’re experiencing all of this …
So we splashed and we ate and we reminisced about family gone on and friends we love …
Because sometimes the most beautiful thing you can do is simply to remember.
How did you celebrate Memorial Day?

“Because sometimes the most beautiful thing you can do is simply to remember.” Love that! And so true. A friend of mine from high school was killed in a boating accident over the weekend and just remembering all the good times is what has kept everyone going. A life cut so short, but she was beautiful inside and out and touched many lives. We have to remember the good times when we miss our loved ones!
