What I Wore and More

WIWW, fall capsule wardrobe, journaling Bible ... TeriLynneUnderwood.com

Hey y’all! I’ve gotta be honest … I still haven’t mastered taking a good selfie. And I’m always the last one to get ready at my house so selfies are my only option. But, I’ll figure it out one day. {maybe}

Anyway, I’m still working with my fall capsule wardrobe. And, for the most part, I’m still loving it. I put up the navy shorts and pulled out the leggings this past week. Here’s hoping that wasn’t a mistake — north Alabama weather can be pretty crazy in late September/early October.

Here’s a few of the outfits I’ve worn this week.

Left: How about this crazy fun tunic?? I wore this Sunday morning to church. You can see the shoes, but they are some adorable wedges I got at Kohls last year. Super comfy.

Center: This is going to be one of my favorite outfits. I borrowed the shirt from Casiday for my capsule. {Love having a girl to share clothes with!} Paired it with my favorite trouser jeans from Old Navy and my go-to leopard print flats.  Added a few long gold necklaces for some bling.  Be warned: You’ll probably see this outfit again with different accessories.

Right: Okay, this is what I call my bohemian hipster look.  LOL  The long flowing tunic from Zulily and my favorite scarf from Dayspring = bohemiam.  Cuffed skinnies with navy booties from Old Navy = hipster.

Also, if you notice I tried a few ways of styling my hair — straight as a board, bangs pulled back, and a braided bang. One of the best things about this new hair cut is options! Some people think with shorter hair you can’t do as much but I’m finding this cut pretty versatile.

Maybe you’re wondering why all this new fascination with clothes here on the blog … I shared before created a capsule wardrobe is  part of my desire for a simplified life during this crazy season.  I’m blogging about it for accountability and because, as my friend Stacey says, we’d be chatting about our clothes if we met for coffee regularly. {I love that girl! You should check out her new Coffee Club.}

what I'm wearing and why I'm sharing about itHere’s the thing, we all have those days {years??} when we struggle about what to wear. I’ll be 43 next week. {Can we all take a deep breath together about this? Because I need to say, I’m really not sure how I’m eeking closer to my mid-forties.} I’m constantly wondering if I dress too young for my age. Finding clothes that make us feel good {and feel like we look good!} is no small thing. But I admit, there are days when I get lost in Pinterest looking at what everyone is wearing and wishing my clothes budget was a lot more than it is. As we get dressed for the day, let’s not forget the most important things we can put on:

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive.  And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.  Colossians 3:12-14

The photo above is from my new ESV Journaling Bible … you can definitely expect to read more about that around here too.

Okay, now tell me, which of those three outfits do you like best? The funky trendy one, the classic preppy one, or the bohemian hipster one?

xo,
