Top 10 Posts of 2015

Can you believe we're less than a week away from 2016? This year feels like it passed so quickly.  All those moms who smiled at me when my girl was a baby and said, "Don't blink!" were so right!!  My girl will turn 16 in less than two months.  What??  {I find this most amazing since I haven't gotten any older at all since she was born. haha!} I looked over all the posts I wrote in 2015 and made a list of the top ten {measured by numbers of page views and social media sharing}. So, here ... [Read More]

50 Gifts for Teenage Girls {$50 and Under}

For the record, in my experience,  the best gift for a teenage girl is, almost always, a gift card. Because no matter what you pick out—even if you buy it at 11:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve from the last minute additions to her "this is all I want for Christmas" 20-page list of approved gifts—it will be wrong. :) Even so, there must be gifts under the tree, right? And so, we moms will do our best to find the perfect surprises for Christmas morning ... and, there's a pretty good chance we'll ... [Read More]

Prayers for Girls {or what to do when God hits you with a two by four}

Y'all, I suppose by now you're well aware I announced an exciting new project a few days ago. It's been crazy! Scott and I were headed to the Auburn-Ole Miss game {I really just can't talk about that right now} and we were amazed as literally hundreds of people were connecting with a community on Facebook and signing up to receive monthly Scripture-based calendars. Here's the thing: If ever anyone was not qualified to lead a prayer-based ministry it is me. Prayer is overwhelming to me. ... [Read More]

So I went to dotMOM this past weekend …

What can I say about an event that involves Melanie Shankle and Sophie Hudson except you know you'll laugh! This year's dotMOM conference was fabulous! It's been a few years since I have been able to attend dotMOM and I was very excited to go this year with some of the ladies from our church. For those who don't know, dotMOM is a Lifeway|Women event and is my favorite non-writing conference to attend. This year's platform speakers included both Melanie and Sophie and one of my favorite ... [Read More]

Yes, I Read My Daughter’s Texts {and no, it isn’t because I don’t trust her}

Yes, I am that mom.  Every night, I read my daughter's texts and log into her social media accounts to look at the direct messages and friends lists. I am the one who "stalks" anyone on those lists I don't know.  I am the mom who knew about Yik Yak two days before a student used it to make a bomb threat at my daughter's school because I was checking texts. One of my girl's friends said to her mom, "Mrs. Teri Lynne knows everything. She might even know before it happens." As much as I'd ... [Read More]

What I Learned in August

How is August over?? Y'all ... it is crazy! Tonight is my girl will cheer at the first JV football game of the season. The best part of the end of August is that it brings me to my favorite time of the year — COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!! I can't wait to watch Auburn play Louisville on Saturday. Most months I try to join the lovely Emily as she invites us all to share what we learned.  For those of you who just like pictures, here is my month in images: And here is some explanation and ...
