Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3
In April of 1999, Scott and I received the devastating news we would most likely be unable to conceive children of our own. It was a Wednesday and that night during choir practice we both struggled to sing about the faithfulness of God. We felt abandoned and forgotten by the very God about which we were singing.
Our plans were not to be. And we were faced with a choice: would we trust God even when it was hard and painful.
While we agonized over the dreams we felt would never be … God was working out His plan in our lives. One that would bring Him far greater glory and was for our good in ways we could not even imagine.
Less than a year later, Casiday Hope Underwood was born … and in that room at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital there was a hush as we looked at this baby, this true miracle, and knew — in a way we would never have known otherwise — the true faithfulness and goodness of God.
His plan is always for our good … and always brings Him glory.
Lord, You know the dreams and plans we have for ourselves and our marriage and our family. But today, we commit those plans to You … because we CHOOSE to trust You and walk in confidence that Your plan for us is always greater than anything we could plan for ourselves. And we know You are always acting for our good. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Even when it's hard, we choose to trust the Lord's plan. #PrayersForMarriage Share on X
