{Joy Day 1} Grace and Peace

Welcome to my first “official” 31 Days series. *I did share some reflections from my own journey of faith every day in October last year.* We’ll be spending just a few moments every day journeying through the Book of Philippians.   I’ll share some verses, a thought or two, and a prayer.   My hope and prayer is that you will be encouraged and challenged to live the joy-filled life Christ promises us (John 15:11).   Let’s jump in!

Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus,

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and the deacons.

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:1-2

We begin our jaunt through this “epistle of joy” written by Paul to the church at Philippi with a promise of grace and peace from the Father and the Son.   What a sweet beginning.    I cannot imagine a greater cause for joy in the life of a believer than the grace that has saved us and the peace that indwells us.

Father God, we thank you for the precious gift of grace and the beautiful promise of peace.  Teach us the joy of beginning each new day with fresh awareness of  these truths and the awareness of Your presence in our lives.   In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Read the Psalms this summer with Scripture Dig!
