Proverbs 31 Woman: I’ll Never Measure Up

The past couple of months have been a bit up and down around here.   Literally … January was my biggest blogging month ever, February – well, not so much.

Life online has reflected my life offline.  Since January 27, I’ve been working for our county by managing the absentee ballots for the upcoming Primary.  That has completely changed everything in my world!   I haven’t had an 8 to 5 job in over 12 years.  That’s right , not since three months before the girl was born.   To say that our world has been crazy would be the biggest understatement I could offer.

Before this job opportunity even came up, I’d mapped out the Starting Well series and agreed to teach through Proverbs at my church.

I’ve been a bit frazzled lately.  That nagging voice of self-doubt has been whispering steady into my head and heart.   Daily I’m choosing grace for me and to let the less important things go for this season of life.   But, it’s been a challenge.  A daily battle in my heart and mind.

Can any of you relate?

But thankfully, God dropped Pursuit of Proverbs 31 into my lap.  I had the opportunity read Amy Bayliss’ latest e-book and sat, literally in tears, basking in the freedom of God’s plan for me, for all of us women.

I had to face the music. I have an addiction to approval. Not only did I need the approval of others but I also wanted so badly to have my own approval. That came at a price.

These words from the first chapter of Pursuit of Proverbs 31 struck deep to my soul.   It was as if Amy had searched through my heart and found a deep truth, one that was  affecting every aspect of my life.

This is a book about grace and truth … and a book every woman I know should read.  Whether you are single, a newlywed, the mother of littles or a grandmother, Pursuit of Proverbs 31 is for you.   Why?  Because we all need to be reminded that it isn’t our standard or expectations that matter in the end.   There is great freedom in the simple but powerful truth:  GOD LOVES YOU!!  He really does.

Amy writes clearly and beautifully about the heart behind this Proverbs 31 woman who rose before dawn to went to bed after dark, who sewed and shopped and ran businesses and her household.   If you have wondered if you do enough or do it right or if what you do even matters, this book is for you.

I urge you, invest $4.99 in yourself.  Invite a group of your friends to join you in this pursuit.  Buy this book, read it with your Bible by your side.

It’s not often that I call a book life-changing.  In fact,  I can think of only two books, outside the Bible,  I’ve ever read that have had this significant an impact on my understanding of myself and of God’s plan for me.   Pursuit of Proverbs 31 will be an annual read for me.

If I could, I’d give a copy to each one of my readers … it’s that good.

So, what are you waiting for?  Go … get the PDF or the Kindle copy!  You’ll be so glad you did!

{I received a free copy of Pursuit of Proverbs 31 for the purpose of this review.  The opinions are entirely my own. I am an affiliate for Amy’s book so any purchases made through these links will result in a commission for me; but, so you know, I’d recommend this book regardless.  It’s that good.}
