He has told you, O man, what is good:
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, and to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8 is my husband’s life verse. In his office at the church is a plaque reminding of these divine requirements. In the almost 19 years we’ve been married, I can testify to his deep resolve to live by the guidelines in this verse. And because of his leadership, our home is guided by these three principles as well.
What are the guiding principles for your home? I think it’s important that we identify the standards by which we desire to live.
Today, I encourage you to spend some time praying about what guides your life, your marriage, and your home. Talk with your husband and consider what principles and values matter to you.
Lord, we know we need Your guidance in all things. And we trust Your Word to lead us. Let our desire be obedience and faithfulness in all things. We pray for a desire to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with You in all things. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
