STAND OUT: 7 traits of a counter cultural life

Welcome to my 6th 31 days series! Sixth. Y’all, I’ve been blogging forever. 🙂

I’m thrilled you are here and I hope this month will be one full of encouragement and inspiration for you. We’ll be spending the month of October talking about this:

STAND OUT ... 7 traits of a counter-cultural life {coming October 2015 to terilynneunderwood.com}

Counter cultural has become one of the buzz words in our church vernacular. A quick Google search on the topic will lead to millions {literally!} of results … blog posts and books abound. So, you’re probably wondering, why have I decided to add my voice to the already full choir?

Here’s the thing, I believe it’s easy to get lost in all the counter cultural talk and miss the message to our hearts. We get busy debating if we can have Christmas gifts or put our kids in public schools or buy clothes from chain stores … and while all of those questions are worth asking, the bigger issue {I believe} is rooted in Romans 12:2:

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

In order to live a truly counter-cultural life, we must be transformed. The way we think and believe has to be reconfigured so that what we do and say will accurately reflect the goodness and glory of God.

So, that’s what this series is all about — a month of exploring seven traits we must embrace in order to STAND OUT in this world.

  1. I love this Teri Lynne! I think you are targeting all us moms who are reading…and that IS good. But wouldn’t this topic make a great little eBook (or short booklet) for young girls (or boys)????? Please do write it for us moms—we need to hear it too—but I think you could expand this! In your spare time…
