In Him: 10 Truths from Colossians

In Him ... 10 truths from Colossians about who we are and what we have in Christ

In Christ …

We have redemption.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

All things were created.

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16

Everything holds together.

And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

We are reconciled and blameless.

He has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him. Colossians 1:22

All treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3

We are rooted and built up.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7

In Him we are rooted and built up ... 10 truths from Colossians.

The fullness of God dwells.

For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily. Colossians 2:9

We were circumcised.

In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ. Colossians 2:11

We are raised up.

Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. Colossians 2:12

We are triumphant.

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.Colossians 2:13-15

Every Wednesday night I gather in a small room at our church with between four and six other ladies and we dig into the Word. We started in Genesis waaaay back in June 2012.  We’ve studied and prayed our way through the whole Old Testament and the Gospels. We’re now in the epistles and by the end of May we’ll have studied through the whole Bible — in four years.  What an amazing gift it’s been to link arms and hearts with these ladies!

In Christ we have all things! Sometimes we can lose sight of that in the middle of all the mundane and the chaos of our daily lives. But what beautiful truths, right? Perhaps today you need a little reminder about the immeasurable gifts of grace you have as His child. Or maybe it's just that I do. Either way, let's not lose sight of all we have and who we are IN CHRIST!

The list above is one I shared with them as we studied Colossians.  In Christ we have all things! Out of pure curiosity, have you ever studied straight through the Bible with a group?
