Have you ever felt like the place you are isn’t the place you’re supposed to be?
I’d imagine at some point we all have. Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore have written a lovely story that speaks to those times when we’re wrestling with all the feelings that come with not fitting in.
Planted with Hope by Tricia Goyer and Sherry Gore
Planted with Hope is the second book in The Pinecraft Pie Shop series and as I read it, I found myself connecting with Hope, the main character. Since her family’s move to Florida, she hasn’t found her place and she isn’t sure she ever will.
Maybe you know that sense of not belonging? Sometimes it lasts for what seems like forever, doesn’t it?
For Hope, the sense of discontent and not belonging are almost overwhelming. While she loves her family, the sandy soil in their new Florida home has left her without a place for the garden she loved growing when they lived further north. The garden had been her place of solitude and, in many ways, her identity. Now in Florida, Hope is wrestling with feelings of discontent and longing for what she had before.
As Tricia and Sherry tell Hope’s story {and weave in all sorts of yummy recipes and interesting gardening facts along the way}, they are also reminding of the truth — God’s plan for us is always good and we can trust His timing. When we know that, we can find peace and contentment no matter where we are.
I loved this book and the first book in the series, Made with Love, also. If you are looking for a encouraging fiction read, I highly recommend Planted with Hope.
