31 Ways to Embrace Lopsided Living {coming October 2016}

I can’t believe it’s almost October. Like seriously … this year is flying by.

October is, however, my favorite month. At some point in October it will FINALLY start cooling off here in north Alabama. My birthday is in October. And, in October that gorgeous pear tree in our neighborhood has leaves that turn the most amazing yellow. Seriously, it’s stunning.

I also love October because it’s when #write31days happens. Every day for the whole month I will write here on the blog. I first started doing this in 2010 with Under Construction, a series of posts based on what I was learning from Proverbs.  The next year, I shared 31 Days of Joy, a study of Philippians {order the ebook}. In 2012, I did a fun series on Must Read 31 Days Series.  I loved finding good ones to share with others. In 2013, I didn’t finish my series (the only year I didn’t). I made it to day 28 of 31 Days of Living Well. {I have no idea what conclusion you should draw from that … }

In 2014, I did the series that led to a book contract {and a BOOK next year from Bethany House!!}. 31 Verses to Pray for Your Girl also opened the door for Prayers for Girls, which I love!  Last year, I did STAND OUT: 7 traits of a counter-cultural life. It is still one my favorite series ever!  I have also done two 31 days series on marriage: 31 Verses to Pray for Your Marriage and Scott and I cowrote #MarriagePrayers this spring.

That’s a lot of 31 days series, right? But this year’s is my very favorite! This one is the message of my heart. It’s the truth I’ve been living and teaching and praying for others for the past six or seven years.

Lopsided Living: the purposeful pursuit of an unbalanced life

31 Simple Ways to Embrace LOPSIDED LIVING

This series is for all the stressed out, overwhelmed, exhausted among us. It’s also for the ones who read Proverbs 31 and need a nap because you’re tired just reading all she did. And it’s for the ones who want to do all sorts of amazing things but their season of life just won’t allow it.

Basically, this one is for all of us. The busy women, the ones who love the Lord and love their families, the ones who read John 10:10 and are desperate for the abundant life He offers.

Lopsided Living isn’t about doing more or less. It’s about choosing the full life. It’s not a formula or a method. I still haven’t figured out how to define or explain it, except to say this —

Lopsided Living is the purposeful pursuit of an unbalanced life.

I know, you’re thinking, an unbalanced life? Seriously, TL, everyone else is trying to tell me how to get my life into balance. Are you crazy? Well, maybe … but here’s the thing. Everything in life isn’t equal. Some things are more important and the best way to live in the abundance God offers us is to know how to determine what those things are and let them make us unbalanced but full.

If that sounds good to you, join me in October where we’ll be unpacking this whole Lopsided Living thing and identifying simple ways we can learn to live in it.  The easiest way to get all the information and encouragement is to sign up for the daily emails. Every morning you’ll receive a short email that offers one simple way you can live lopsided. I’ll be discussing the ideas more in-depth on the blog so I’ll include the link to each day’s post as well.  Easy peasy.

So, there you have it … my next 31 days series! I do hope you’ll be joining me. It’s going to be so much fun to share this with you all!

I'm joining @terilynneu for #LopsidedLiving! You should too! #write31days Share on X
