Releasing today
Mom Set Free: Find Relief from the Pressure to Get It All Right by Jeannie Cunnion
Y’all, Jeannie is one of my favorite people on earth! I first met her via text (thanks to the great connector of people, Courtney DeFeo). I have heard her speak at a conference and I’ve had the privilege of sweet conversation with her as well. She is genuine and passionate about encouraging moms to trust in the grace God offers. Mom Set Free is a whisper of rest in a world that shouts produce. Jeannie’s words will remind you of the truth we all so easily forget — we are dearly loved by the God who made us and we can trust Him.
You need this book if you are a mom who is tired, fearful, or overwhelmed. So yeah, basically all the moms need this book.
Brave Beauty: Finding the Fearless You by Lynn Cowell
Lynn has a heart for girls and their moms! She is a fabulous writer and gifted communicator. But what you will love most about this book is Lynn’s ability to connect with the heart of girls. Brave Beauty has 100 mini chapters which encourage tween girls to understand who they are in Christ and allow that knowledge to give them confidence as they view themselves and interact with others.
This is the perfect book for any tween girl — daughter, granddaughter, niece, etc. But I think it would also be useful for moms, youth leaders, etc., who want to know how to approach hard topics with tweens.

Gospel-Centered Mom: The Freeing Truth about What Your Kids Really Need by Brooke McGlothlin
Brooke and I have been friends for about eight years and the one thing I know about her is this — she is passionate about being a godly mom! And she wants to encourage other moms to do the same. In Gospel-Centered Mom, Brooke encourages us all to remember our kids’ greatest need is the same as our greatest need — Jesus!
This book is for moms who are struggling with the weight of feeling like they are not enough or who feel uncertain about how to consistently orient themselves toward the Lord.
Building Circles of Grace: A Joint Bible Study for Tween Girls and their Moms by Catherine F. Bird
People often ask me about a Bible study they can do with their younger daughters. I’m thrilled to share this one! Building Circles of Grace is an incredible study designed for moms to do with their tween girls. The study focuses on building and sustaining Christ-centered relationships.
If you are the mom of a tween girl, get this study to do with her!
She Is Yours: Trusting God as You Raise the Girl He Gave You by Jonathan and Wynter Pitts
This book is a beautiful reminder to moms that these daughters we have are His! Jonathan and Wynter have four girls ages 13 and under so they know about trusting God with their girls. In She Is Yours, they invite us to remember that while you have the privilege of raising her, this girl you love belongs to the Lord.
If you are looking for a book you and your husband can read together, this is it! You’ll appreciate the perspective of both parents as presented in She is Yours.
{Why} Motherhood Matters: An Invitation to Purposeful Parenting by September McCarthy
September is the mother of ten and also a grandmother. Her wealth of experience and wisdom is a gift to all of us who know her. And this book gives everyone the opportunity to learn from this gracious mentor. Equal parts story and application, {Why} Motherhood Matters will encourage moms in every stage of parenting.

Let me just say something about all three of these books — THEY ARE FANTASTIC!! While all the books above center on parenting, these three are for all of us, moms or not. I cannot recommend these three books enough. I honestly believe no one’s library will be complete without them.
Is Jesus Worth It? Igniting Your Faith When You Feel Like Quitting by Stacey Thacker
Stacey is one of my dearest friends. She is a fellow girl mom and a fellow lover of God’s Word. Is Jesus Worth It? is the first in her new series, The Girlfriend’s Guide to the Bible. And that is exactly what it is! Stacey is a wise and gracious guide through the book of Hebrews. This isn’t a cold and aloof commentary. Truly, you will feel like you have been drinking coffee with a friend and discussing Scripture. I am so excited this book (and series) is finally out! And yes, though the release date isn’t until September 5, I’ve already seen it in our local LifeWay and others have already purchased their copies. So you may be able to find it in a store near you.
Who needs this? Well, I’d say everyone, of course. But especially if you are in a difficult season or struggling with your faith, this is the book for you. Stacey has been through so much in the past few years and her life is this truth, that Jesus IS worth it, lived out.
Deeper Waters: Immersed in the Life-Changing Truth of God’s Word by Denise J. Hughes
I had the privilege of reading an early copy of this book and writing an endorsement. This is what I said then and what I would say now, “As a Bible teacher and pastor’s wife, I am deeply thankful for writers like Denise who faithfully and consistently point us to Jesus. As a friend, I’m deeply thankful for women like Denise who honestly and graciously point me to Jesus. Deeper Waters is a gift to all of us who long for more of Christ and HIs Word. Denise has opened the Word and invited us to join her on the journey to abide fully and deeply in Christ. And we can be sure we have a thoughtful guide who has known the faithfulness and generosity of the One about whom she writes.” {Releases September 5.}
If you’ve ever wondered why the Bible is so important, you need this book! If you already love the Bible but you want encouragement about digging deeper, you’ll find it here.
Walk It Out: The Radical Result of Living God’s Word One Step at a Time by Tricia Goyer
Y’all, no joke, Tricia is amazing! Author of over 60 books, she is a fantastic writer. But my favorite thing about Tricia is her love for Jesus and her desire to go wherever He leads. Walk It Out is her story of obedience, even when it seemed crazy. She was a teen mom who started a pregnancy center. She and her husband John had three grown children when they began an adoption journey that led to seven more children in their home. {Releases October 1.}
If you’ve ever wondered what happens when someone chooses to be obedient no matter what, get this book! If you’re afraid of what God is asking you to do, get this book! If you are ready to live out God’s Word one step at a time, get this book!
See, I wasn’t kidding — these are some fantastic books by some of my dearest friends and women who I deeply respect. Pick any of them to start with and I promise you’ll want to read them all. Make this your gift list for the women in your life. They’ll thank you!
And, of course, I’d be so honored if you decided to order a copy of Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most for yourself or to give someone you know.
