Stories Matter … Tell Yours

Stories matter. When my husband asked me to share a part of my story for a night of worship at our church on Easter, I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to recall the hard and sinful places I'd been. I didn't want to reopen the scarred over cuts. I didn't want to remember the hopelessness. I didn't want to revisit the brokenness and sinfulness. The truth is, I wanted to stay right here, where I am now. I want you to see me the way I am now—the Bible teacher, the wife and mom, the ... What I’m Reading {April 2017}

I didn't get to read as much as I like this month.  In fact, I feel like I barely got to read at all.  Life is like that sometimes, right? I did get some flowers planted in one of the flower beds and somehow that feels like a huge accomplishment. (seriously) Nonetheless, I did read a few chapters here and there. Here's what I'm reading ... What I'm Reading April 2017 Adorned: Living Out the Beauty of the Gospel Together by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth — Has this one been on the list all ... [Read More]

Looking for a New Bible? I Recommend the Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

After the candy high from the Cadbury Mini Eggs has fallen, after the fake grass from the Easter baskets has been vacuumed, after the last of the Easter ham has been made into a sandwich What now? Why does Easter ... [Read More]

And now, looking at the massive selection, there is only one word to describe how you feel— OVERWHELMED! Whether you are a women's ministry leader selecting the studies you will offer at your church, a small group leader trying to determine the next study your group will do, or you are simply looking for a study to do by yourself at home, the choices are ... What If We Became Women who Never Unfriended?

"Lord, may the words in this book change the next generation." I choked back the sob threatening to push its way out of my throat. Around the room, women murmured, "Yes, Lord," and everything in me wanted to fall on my knees. These women, gathered in the prayer room at our church— the same room where we have prayed for marriages to be saved, for bodies to be healed, for souls to be saved—now stood circled around the Praying for Girls final edits, praying for God to use the words to change ...
