Coming in 2015

Well, here we are … the second Friday of 2015. Wow! Already I sense this year is going to fly by. Before everything gets totally out of control, I thought I’d take a minute to share a few of the things I have planned for this little online spot during the coming months. 31 Verses to Pray for Your Marriage. I’m very excited about this series, especially after the incredible response to 31 Verses to Pray for Your Girl. We’ll kick it off January 15 and end on Valentine’s Day. And of course, I’ll ... Your Favorite Posts of 2014

2014 is over and this week my goal is to get back into my blogging groove. December was a crazy month and while I did LOVE sharing some Advent thoughts from the Gospel of Luke every day on Facebook, I didn't manage to blog as much as I had hoped. So, here we are in January. My girl goes back to school on Wednesday so we're relishing our last bit of Christmas break with some shopping and salon-ing. {Yeah, I just made up that word.} I'm looking forward to some fun family time before we jump ... For Your Weekend {“Friends” Marathon Edition}

Oh my word, y'all! It's Saturday morning and we're having a little Friends marathon around here.  Thank you, Netflix! {Though we do own all ten seasons on DVD so we've been having Friends marathons since before the show went off the air.} I'm currently watching my favorite episode ever: The One with All the Poker. So many great lines in just under 30 minutes. For example, "Did you get that from the I Love Rachel pizzeria?" "Oh hello, Kettle, this is Monica. You're black!" "Oh it's ... [Read More]

For Your Weekend

The big news this week is I got my hair cut and colored. Isn't it amazing how a great cut and color can make you feel so much better. Just like my clothes were adding extra stress in my day, so was my hair. I actually spent some time looking for the best style for my face shape. As this article on YouBeauty says, "While a great hairstyle can lift years off your look and make you feel completely reinvigorated, few realize that it’s your face shape that is truly at play. As the foundation for any ... [Read More]

On Marriage and Love and How Hard It Is Some Days

Some days I happen across something and I sit down to share a link or a quote on Facebook and then I realize I have a lot to say about that ... today is one of those days. I just read this post from the beautiful Kristen Welch at We Are THAT Family — There Is Nothing Quite as Sexy as a Man who Loves His Wife.  I copied this small part of her post to share on my Facebook page thinking it might encourage others. It’s so easy in this life to name all the things our husbands don’t do. And most ... [Read More]

Just Hold My Hand

Yesterday was Scott's and my eighteenth wedding anniversary. {And yes, I was a child bride! Ha!} I can't begin to wrap words around the depth of love I feel for this man who listened when I told him we were supposed to be together forever. I'm reading this incredible book, A Praying Life, by Paul Miller.  The book is all about hesed, the steadfast love we see offered by God in Scripture. Miller describes hesed this way: Sometimes hesed is translated "steadfast love." It combines ... [Read More]
