Hey friends!
Do any of you remember the “old days” of blogging? You know, back when people just told you about their days, their family adventures, fun traditions, and just normal life stuff?
I was talking with Dawn Camp earlier this month about our yearning to get back to that in our online spaces. I want to share my heart. I want to offer you resource suggestions. I want to provide you with tools you can use. I want to encourage you and challenge you … but most of all I just want this space to feel a little less like an office and a lot more like the corner in my front room where I sit every day to read my Bible, Marco Polo with my nieces and nephews, and chat with my friends over coffee.
So, here’s the deal … I promise to just come here once or twice a week and share with you the very same things I’m talking about with my besties and the women in my church and maybe even the poor unfortunate soul who ends up in line with me at WalMart.
And I hope you’ll join the conversation … that old school way — by commenting! Mmkay??
What I’m Loving
One of my dearest friends and I go to the gym a few times a week and we always talk about what we are loving … everything from books to recipes to television shows — nothing is off limits.
And I thought that would be fun to do here … because I bet you know all sorts of things I would love and maybe I’ve found a few things you might love too.
So, here’s what I’m loving this month {in no particular order} —
- ESV.org — I gave my beloved ESV Study Bible to one of our college students last spring when she graduated and moved to New Orleans. I figured I’d just buy a new one … but then I started using ESV.org and I love it so much! I have the paid version {$3.99 a month} which gives me access to seven different study Bibles including the ESV Study Bible, the Systematic Theology Study Bible, and five more. PLUS multiple commentaries, sermon series, the Knowing the Bible series, and more. I use this every. single.day.
- The West Wing Weekly podcast — I’m a HUGE West Wing fan so finding this podcast was the best thing ever! If you love West Wing, you want to listen to Hrishi Hirway and Joshua Malina discuss the episodes. I have learned sooo much from the guests and additional information they (and by they I really mean Hrishi) bring to the podcast.
- Ningxia Red — This is one of my favorite Young Living products … in fact, I’d say right now it is my absolute favorite. Infused with Lemon, Orange, Yuzu, and Tangerine essential oils, NingXia Red is a delicious daily supplement that includes juices and extracts from superfruits such as aronia, plum, blueberry, pomegranate, and—best of all—exotic Ningxia wolfberries. This delicious supplement packs a big punch, offering benefits that include support for normal eye health, cellular function, and energy levels. I drink 1-2 oz. every day and I can definitely tell a huge difference in how I feel. {Learn more about why I love Young Living here.}
- Flannel shirts — Apparently, I have a bit of fixation on flannels this winter. In fact, I’ve pretty much been wearing plaid flannels for the past month. Basically, every day I’m wearing a flannel, jeans, and booties. Sometimes I break out one of my bajillion cardigans with my flannel. But the flannels are definitely on repeat.
- My new flat iron — which is actually the first one I’ve ever had that I can actually use to curl my hair. Here’s the flat iron I have and here’s the tutorial I used to learn how to curl my hair with it. 🙂
- Is He Worthy? — Have you heard this song? Like my flannels, this is on repeat! I have both the Andrew Peterson (who wrote it) and the Chris Tomlin versions on my Wonder 2019 playlist. My favorite line is, “Does our God intend to dwell again with us? He does.” Goosebumps every time. It’s so good!
- My Planner— I adore having a good planner. And there are so many great options out there. My favorites are the Happy Planner and the DaySpring planner which is currently on MAJOR sale so if you are looking for a great planner, you should definitely check the sale out {affiliate link} here. You can also read a post I wrote about why I love the DaySpring planners here
- Werther’s candies — Can we just talk about how amazing all the Werther’s candies are?? I love the hard ones, the chewy ones … all of them.
- Stash tea — Oh. My. Word. Y’all, the Earl Grey with double bergamont … sheer bliss. I got mine at Whole Foods but they have 100 count boxes available from {affiliate link} Amazon so I’m pretty sure this is going to be added to our pantry order. Also, the decaf Vanilla Chai is my favorite evening indulgence. So yummy with a drop of Thieves oil and almond milk.
- My “happy” essential oil roller — I love creating my own rollers with essential oils. My current favorite is a blend I call happy — Northern Lights Black Spruce with Orange. Oh. My. Word. I use it on my wrists all day long and also just inhale the scent from the roller. {You can make your own rollers with the 12 oils in the recently updated premium starter kit — get yours today!}
So, there you go … ten things I’ve been loving this month. I guess I could have added Golden Oreos also … but I love them every month so there’s that. Tell me, friends, what are you loving? Is there a food I need to try, a shop I need to check out, a brand I should explore? Fill me in!
xoxo,
Teri Lynne
