Praying Scripture for our Daughters and our Marriages

Posted on April 25, 2016April 25, 2016by Teri Lynne Underwood
When we root our prayers in the living and active Word of God those petitions become even more powerful and purposeful.

Praying Scripture is powerful!! I suppose it’s not a big secret how much I love the Word of God. I’ve been seriously studying and teaching the Bible for the past twenty years. My ongoing prayer is that God will give me greater passion for His Word and a greater ability to communicate the truths it […]

{book review} Triggers by Amber Lia & Wendy Speake

Posted on February 16, 2016February 15, 2016by Teri Lynne Underwood
book review of Triggers: Exchanging Parents' Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses by Amber Lia and Wendy Speake

It happened again this weekend. I call it the “Clash of the Hormones.” Between my girl’s teenager hormones and my menopausal hormones, let’s just say it can get highly emotional around here and things can escalate quickly. I don’t say that to make light of it … or to excuse it.  But if we’re honest, almost […]

So I went to dotMOM this past weekend …

dotMOM 2015 recap ... Melanie Shankle, Sophie Hudson, Karen Kingsbury, Jeannie Cunnion, and more

What can I say about an event that involves Melanie Shankle and Sophie Hudson except you know you’ll laugh! This year’s dotMOM conference was fabulous! It’s been a few years since I have been able to attend dotMOM and I was very excited to go this year with some of the ladies from our church. […]

Yes, I Read My Daughter’s Texts {and no, it isn’t because I don’t trust her}

Posted on September 1, 2015January 12, 2017by Teri Lynne Underwood
When I read my daughter's texts it is less about trusting her and more about trusting God and His Word.

Yes, I am that mom.  Every night, I read my daughter’s texts and log into her social media accounts to look at the direct messages and friends lists. I am the one who “stalks” anyone on those lists I don’t know.  I am the mom who knew about Yik Yak two days before a student used […]

A Prayer for my Girl as She Begins Her Sophomore Year

Posted on August 13, 2015August 13, 2015by Teri Lynne Underwood
my prayer as my daughter begins her sophomore year of high school

This morning my girl started her sophomore year of high school. {yes, all the feels. all of them.}  And I realized it was the last time I’d drive her to her first day of school.  Next year she’ll drive herself. Not going to lie, it feels like there is a boulder in my throat and […]

I Don’t Have to Be the Perfect Mom {and neither do you!}

Posted on March 18, 2015April 20, 2017by Teri Lynne Underwood
I Don't Have to be a Perfect Mom ... and neither are you!

My friend Marguerite and I walk together several mornings a week. Recently {and what seems like always lately},  I was bemoaning my failures as a mom. Marguerite, who has three boys of her own, looked me in the eyes and said, “You would never let any of your friends talk about themselves like this. Treat yourself […]

Dig into Scripture with me?

Scripture Dig — a community for women who want to DIG into God's Word. Develop the habit. Invest in others. Grow in confidence.

Want more encouragement for living well? Sign up for my monthly newsletter.

Love these Bible Study Resources!

The Daily Grace Co. is one of my favorite places for Bible study resources. Gospel-driven studies, beautiful journals, and more.
This is hard. And none of us was really prepared for how hard it would be. Here's what I'm finding, even when I don't FEEL hope, I can KNOW hope. Because hope isn't a feeling, hope is a Person. If you're struggling, lean into Jesus.
Why is giving ourselves space in between Bible studies valuable? Two reasons not to jump from study to study.

Not sure what or how to pray? I wrote this book for all of us who want to pray with confidence and power.

Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most (Bethany House, 2017) by Teri Lynne Underwood contains 200 Bible-based prayers as well as suggested activities and conversation starters, Praying for Girls is a must-have tool in every mom’s arsenal.
