It's no big secret I'm a Kristen Welch groupie. If you follow either of my Facebook pages you know I share basically everything she writes with the hashtag #MustRead. I've been reading her blog for ever ....because she is equal parts hilarious and honest. And those are two of the most important qualities in a person as far as I'm concerned. Also I want to be her BFF because she's got a love for the Lord I want to be around all the time. A couple of years ago I said her book Rhinestone ... [Read More]

Celebrating 2014
I've spent the past few days at my parents' house in Missouri and it has been fabulous! We've eaten a ton, shopped a little, and laughed until we cried. In just a couple of hours we'll tell Granny Sue and Papa Terry good-bye and head off for our last getaway of 2014 and I find myself a bit reflective. 2014 has been a great year in so many ways. I loved the opportunity to lead a few sessions at She Speaks this summer. I've made some incredible new friends and accomplished quite a few personal ... [Read More]
good days, hard days, and gratitude
Monday and I used to be tight. I loved the fresh start and possibility she brought each week. But not so much lately. Lately, she's felt bossy and overwhelming. And {because I suppose there is a 14-year-old girl inside me still} I've resisted her urgings and demands, even though she wasn't altogether wrong. This week is different though. Not because I was up at 5 a.m. writing like I should have been. {More like 7:10 so I could drive my girl to school.} Not because I had a good night's ... [Read More]
9:02 pm on April 2, 2013 {the beautiful ordinary}
Last week my girl and I went to Missouri to spend Spring Break with my parents. We had a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed being unplugged for a few days. We came home Friday and spent Saturday at an Easter egg hunt with cousins. Sunday was a beautiful day of worship. Monday I went to Birmingham to speak at the STRENGTH Conference. Such fun to share with small business owners how they can use social media more efficiently and more effectively. Today I had lunch with Kristi and Mitzi, ... [Read More]

It's quiet here ... and this makes two nights in a row I've been up long after I normally am sound asleep. Just like last night I watched The West Wing on Netflix thinking the familiar dialog would lull my filled-up-mind into slumber. Instead, I watched President Bartlett prepare to give the State of the Union address. {Side note: He is my favorite fiction president. In case there is ever a Teri Lynne Underwood category on Jeopardy!} As the closing credits scrolled ... [Read More]
