21 Lessons from 21 Years of Marriage

Posted on June 1, 2017May 31, 2017by Teri Lynne Underwood
After 21 years of marriage, there are bound to be a few lessons learned. Teri Lynne Underwood shares 21 lessons from 21 years of marriage.

Twenty-one years ago I stood at the altar at Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and amidst a lot of laughter and in the presence of lots of friends and family, I promised to love and honor Scott Underwood as his wife. Since then we’ve moved a few times, wrangled a few basset […]

Light in the Dark Places

Posted on May 4, 2017May 4, 2017by Teri Lynne Underwood
When the enemy speaks shame in our hearts, Let's shine the light of truth into those spaces... and then let's be a light in the dark places of others!

Sometimes we share the darkest parts of our lives so others can have light in their dark places. Light in the dark places. You know what I mean, right?  The dark places. I so rarely speak of mine. There are a million reasons why and some of them might even have a little bit of […]

Stories Matter … Tell Yours

Posted on April 27, 2017April 27, 2017by Teri Lynne Underwood
There is one Author of all our stories. Maybe your story is the one that will connect with a broken heart somewhere. Stories matter. Tell yours!

Stories matter. When my husband asked me to share a part of my story for a night of worship at our church on Easter, I didn’t want to do it. I didn’t want to recall the hard and sinful places I’d been. I didn’t want to reopen the scarred over cuts. I didn’t want to […]

God Is Plotting for Your Glory

Posted on August 16, 2016August 16, 2016by Teri Lynne Underwood
Sometimes it will all fall apart. Sometimes nothing will make sense. Sometimes there won't be an easy answer. But even then, we can know God is good. He is faithful and He is near. Our job isn't to keep it all together. His is. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17

“What she does not see with the eyes of her heart is that in all her bitter experiences, God is plotting for her glory. This is true of all God’s children. In the darkest of our times, God is plotting for our glory.” John Piper God is plotting for our glory. I’ve been sloooooooowly reading […]

A Prayer for My Girl’s Junior Year

Posted on August 11, 2016August 11, 2016by Teri Lynne Underwood
may she stand firm in her faith and give grace to those around her

We’ve entered a whole new era … I no longer drive my girl to and from school. She has a driver’s license and a vehicle. She’ll pull that little white SUV into an assigned parking place this morning and when she finishes first day of her junior year, she’ll drive herself home. I’ve been thinking […]

Love these Bible Study Resources!

The Daily Grace Co. is one of my favorite places for Bible study resources. Gospel-driven studies, beautiful journals, and more.
This is hard. And none of us was really prepared for how hard it would be. Here's what I'm finding, even when I don't FEEL hope, I can KNOW hope. Because hope isn't a feeling, hope is a Person. If you're struggling, lean into Jesus.
Why is giving ourselves space in between Bible studies valuable? Two reasons not to jump from study to study.

Not sure what or how to pray? I wrote this book for all of us who want to pray with confidence and power.

Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most (Bethany House, 2017) by Teri Lynne Underwood contains 200 Bible-based prayers as well as suggested activities and conversation starters, Praying for Girls is a must-have tool in every mom’s arsenal.
