What I Learned in August

How is August over?? Y'all ... it is crazy! Tonight is my girl will cheer at the first JV football game of the season. The best part of the end of August is that it brings me to my favorite time of the year — COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!! I can't wait to watch Auburn play Louisville on Saturday. Most months I try to join the lovely Emily as she invites us all to share what we learned.  For those of you who just like pictures, here is my month in images: And here is some explanation and ... Hope Will Come

Hope.  Hope pushes to keep going when hopelessness pulls at us to stop. Hope glimmers softly when darkness weighs hard and heavy. Hope whispers peace when circumstances scream chaos. Hope. Wherever you are, whatever your situation, there is hope. Because in Christ we are more than conquerors {Romans 8:37} and in Him we have fullness of joy {Psalm 16:11} and in Him we have hope, the anchor for our souls {Hebrews 6:19}. What I Learned in August

Hi everyone! It's time to join Emily and a ton of other lovelies to share what lessons the past month has brought. Welcome to the August 2014 of What I Learned!  Finding a rhythm takes time. The Vandy game was delayed due to rain and didn't kick off until almost 10 pm. If I hadn't been exhausted from helping unpack at my grandparent's new house all day ... [Read More]

Summer Update

I'm the worst blogger ever. It's true ... I want to write.  I mean to write. But then somehow I end up watching a "Friends" marathon with my girl and I realize how very uninteresting a story that makes so I make a list of blog posts I could write.  You know, things like "101 books you should read this summer" or "Tips for Looking Busy" ... The thing is, well, there's been a lot going on around here and I'm pretty much an epic failure at multitasking. {And perhaps I have a very low standard ... [Read More]

When You Don’t Know the Next Step

In case you hadn't noticed, I haven't been writing as much lately. I'd love to tell you it's because I've been doing all sorts of awesome things but really it's because I've been in a bit of a funk. I'm still adjusting to all this medicine and making decisions about what the next steps are in my post-heart-attack journey. I do want to share more about this experience and what I'm learning ... but honestly, it's still too fresh. The Lord had already brought me to a place of stillness and quiet ... [Read More]
