Civil Assent to Government

Posted on September 29, 2010by Teri Lynne Underwood

I’m not writing to defend a party or a position … because the issue as I see it transcends Red State, Blue State or liberal and conservative.  This isn’t about Tea Parties or Green Rallies. This is about obedience. Not to government but to the Lord. Let everyone be in subjection to the governing authorities.  […]

Civil Assent at Work

Posted on September 28, 2010August 7, 2013by Teri Lynne Underwood

Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another.  Ephesians 5:21 MSG Two and a half weeks ago we began looking at relationships through the lens of this verse.  Using a simple premise, that submission begins with just being polite, we’ve explored how that changes both our marriages and our parenting. For the […]

Quiet Submission

Posted on September 17, 2010March 21, 2014by Teri Lynne Underwood

I *think* this is the last post on submission in marriage for a bit … next week, we’ll move on to submission as parents – which I’m afraid may be even more challenging in some ways.  {I’ve got a tween, y’all, and every day parenting gets more and more confusing and complex.  E.V.E.R.Y. D.A.Y.} As […]

When We Disagree

Posted on September 16, 2010March 21, 2014by Teri Lynne Underwood

It happens in every marriage.  Sometimes it is something silly but sometimes it is something significant.   He sees the situation one way, she sees it another.  That’s real life, y’all … and our marriages, our Christian marriages, are not immune from disagreement. But how does submission work into that?  The struggle we all have, huh?  […]

Building Him Up

Posted on September 15, 2010March 21, 2014by Teri Lynne Underwood

We’ve been discussing submission for the past few days … and I’ve been asking myself this simple question, “What if submission simply begins with being polite?” Though it’s a simple question, it’s not simple to live.  The chaos of raising a family, managing finances, and a busy calendar can often push common courtesy away. “Do […]

Overwhelmed by Love?

Posted on September 14, 2010March 21, 2014by Teri Lynne Underwood

This is when it’s easy … the whole courteously reverent thing. When he’s in a tux looking at you as though you are the only beautiful woman he’s ever seen. When “till death do us part” is poetry echoing in your soul. When you feel as though your heart might explode from the great joy […]

Love these Bible Study Resources!

The Daily Grace Co. is one of my favorite places for Bible study resources. Gospel-driven studies, beautiful journals, and more.
This is hard. And none of us was really prepared for how hard it would be. Here's what I'm finding, even when I don't FEEL hope, I can KNOW hope. Because hope isn't a feeling, hope is a Person. If you're struggling, lean into Jesus.
Why is giving ourselves space in between Bible studies valuable? Two reasons not to jump from study to study.

Not sure what or how to pray? I wrote this book for all of us who want to pray with confidence and power.

Praying for Girls: Asking God for the Things They Need Most (Bethany House, 2017) by Teri Lynne Underwood contains 200 Bible-based prayers as well as suggested activities and conversation starters, Praying for Girls is a must-have tool in every mom’s arsenal.
